Take your affordable housing expertise to the next level with a professional certification issued by Housing Consultants of America (HCA). Our certification programs are designed to demonstrate that participants have not only completed comprehensive training but have also successfully demonstrated their knowledge through a formal certification examination.

Participants who complete the applicable HCA training course are eligible to sit for the Housing Consultants of America Professional Certification Examination. The exam is administered remotely, allowing participants to complete it from their home or office. The examination must be completed within 10 calendar days of the training date.

Participants completing HCA's LIHTC training may earn the HCA Certified LIHTC Compliance Professional (HCA-LCP) credential.

The certification examination consists of 75 comprehensive questions covering key Low-Income Housing Tax Credit compliance concepts addressed during training. Questions include knowledge-based and practical, scenario-based questions designed to evaluate the participant's understanding and ability to apply LIHTC compliance requirements in real-world situations.

Exam: 75 questions | Passing Score: 80% or higher

Participants completing HCA's Section 8 training may earn the HCA Certified Section 8 Compliance Professional (HCA-S8CP) credential.

The certification examination consists of 100 comprehensive questions covering Section 8 compliance concepts addressed during training. The exam combines knowledge-based and real-world scenario questions to evaluate participants' understanding of program requirements and their ability to apply those requirements in day-to-day affordable housing operations.

Exam: 100 questions | Passing Score: 80% or higher

Following completion of training, the certification examination will be emailed to the email address on file within 24 hours of training completion. Participants have 10 calendar days from the training date to complete and submit the remote examination.

A score of 80% or higher is required to pass. Participants who successfully complete the examination will receive their applicable professional certification issued directly by Housing Consultants of America.

Certification exam fees are included in the course registration fee—there is no additional fee to take the initial certification examination.
